Jeffrey Bouffard

Dr. Jeffrey Bouffard joined the College in 2009 after serving as Director of the Criminal Justice Program at Washington State University. His research is in the areas of corrections and offender decision making. He has received numerous federal, state and local grants to evaluate the effectiveness of specialty courts and programs for offenders with DUI and drug charges, mental health issues, and serious and violent crimes. Dr. Bouffard's work has been published in Crime and Delinquency, Justice Quarterly, Journal of Criminal Justice, Journal of Quantitative Criminology, and The Prison Journal, among others. His research interests include rational choice and self-control theories, and community corrections and offender rehabilitation. Most recently, he has worked on a project to implement and evaluate a new mental health court program in Montgomery County, TX. He previously served as Co-Editor of the Western Criminology Review.
