PROGRAM INFORMATION:

The Correctional Management Institute of Texas, at the George J. Beto Criminal Justice Center, is pleased to offer the week-long program Emerging Senior Leadership: Strategic Thinking, Decision-Making, and Emotional Intelligence. Effective decision making has been identified as a critical competency for senior and executive leadership within correctional organizations. In fact, decision-making is perhaps a foundational competency to all other leadership competencies. This 32 hour program is a challenging and highly interactive program designed to develop and strengthen the participant's leadership capacity. Focusing on Biases, Emotions, and Ethics, to better understand the hidden factors that shape our decisions and enhance our Critical Thinking abilities. Participants will complete an Individual Leadership Assessment Report and receive individual coaching to understand their Emotional Intelligence strengths and areas in which they can develop greater strength. During this program, participants will be exposed to current research and best practice, learn from the faculty, as well as from each other, and stretch themselves to become even more exceptional leaders in corrections.

The registration fee of $750 includes the week-long training and all materials, as well as lunches and dinners. Lodging and other travel expenses are the responsibility of the participant. Breakfast is included with your stay at the University Hotel.

This program is limited to 24 participants. Applicants will be sent a registration link once they have been accepted for the program.

Cancellation Policy:
If paid, full refunds will be given to those who cancel in writing more than ten (10) working days prior to the training. A refund of 70% of the fees paid will be authorized when a written request for cancellation and refund of conference or program fees is submitted less than ten (10) working days prior to the scheduled start of the program. If unpaid, those who cancel in writing more than ten (10) working days prior to the training will have all fees waived. When a written request for cancellation is submitted less than ten (10) working days prior to the scheduled start of the program, the participant will be responsible for 30% of the conference rate at the time they registered. The Correctional Management Institute of Texas reserves the right to retain or collect fees in full for those who fail to cancel in writing prior to the training or for those who fail to attend. Substitutions are permitted at anytime.
