The course is adapted from the U.S. Department of Justice Training Program for Staff Supervision. The course is designed to assist those who serve in any field of corrections, the ability to identify the structure of supervision for employees,
the courts, the people we supervise as clients of our respective jobs and to give those interested in becoming supervisors the requisite skills in people management.

I always stress that the course is designed to not only allow the officer/court manager/public safety employee, the opportunity to learn ways to manage people, from all walks of life, but more specifically, the one's we work with and the one's we serve.

The course targets People Issues, Performance Issues, Problem Solving and Defining an agency's Purpose and Goals.

The course determines the intricacies of management from a supervisory standpoint, not only of those who are in staff supervisory roles, but also from the standpoint of the probation/corrections/LE officer, who has the responsibility of serving the public.

Probation officers supervise. They supervise each other, they manage court issues and most significantly, they manage their clients, who come to them from the courts. In this frame, all employees are in fact, supervisors.

So even if a prospective attendee is not a supervisor within in his/her respective agency, they would still benefit from this course because it will give them skills needed to better serve the stakeholders.

Staff Supervision Training for Corrections Professionals does not denote that the course is merely for supervisors. It is meant to give staff, supervisory training, so they may better serve the public and allow for expansion into agency supervision roles if desired

Cancellation Policy:
If the participant has already paid, he/she will be refunded half the cost of the registration fee if written notice of cancellation is received by the Correctional Management Institute of Texas no later than ten (10) business days prior to the program. No refunds are available after this date, but substitutions of attendees are permitted. If no written cancellation is received and the participant does not attend the program, the participant/agency will be required to pay 100% of the registration fee if the registration fee was not previously paid.
